THE IDEA

What does “heirloom” mean to you? Many of us can think of examples of family heirlooms that have been passed down through generations – an old watch, a pair of diamond earrings, maybe a gold locket. But heirlooms aren’t just any other accessory or piece of jewelry; they carry with them an emotional weight, a sentimentality that cannot be reproduced by an otherwise identical piece. Heirlooms have history, they are history, and that history is what makes them truly special.

It was with this understanding that we created Loom. We wanted to create pieces that make people proud, that will be passed on to their children and their children’s children. We want to create the next generation’s heirlooms, pieces as uniquely individual as those wearing them that will stand the test of time.

THE PROCESS

At Loom, we believe in simplicity. We work directly with the diamond cutters to bring your dream piece to life – that means no middle men, no over-the-top showrooms, and no insane markups. We work with you to understand your vision and to help maximize your budget, whether you’re looking for an engagement ring, a tennis bracelet, or anything in between.

All of our diamonds are naturally grown, ethically sourced, and conflict-free. All pieces come with an independent 3rd party appraisal so that you can be confident in their quality and value. Larger stones and engagement rings also come with GIA or IGI diamond grading reports.

THE PERSON

Alexandra Mann started Loom after helping her best friend design her engagement ring and source the diamond from her family in Israel. Alex experienced first-hand how rewarding it is to bring another’s dream piece to life and decided that everyone should have access to personalized and attentive service, not just those with special connections or deep pockets.

Alex’s affinity for jewelry was inspired by her late grandmother, Faye, who worked in the jewelry manufacturing business for over 30 years. The two shared a very special bond and the jewelry that Faye left Alex is among her most prized possessions – her very own heirlooms.
